Book Clan is a community founded in early 2023 that focuses on the love of fiction literature. This network also wants to fight against the stereotype that fiction books aren't as good as non-fiction books. When it comes to reading, most people believe that reading for knowledge is the best reason to pick up a book. On the other hand, studies show that fiction reading may have significantly more substantial benefits than nonfiction. Reading fiction, for example, predicts enhanced social sensitivity and a better understanding of other people's motivations. Furthermore, reading interest in Indonesia is believed to be relatively low. According to data from the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Indonesia placed 60th out of 61 countries in 2016. Moreover, according to UNESCO data, Indonesians' enthusiasm for reading is extremely low. Only 0.001%, or one in every 1,000 people in Indonesia, are avid readers. The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) for 2022 also reports that the average Indonesian spends 4-5 hours per week reading and reads 4-5 books each quarter, for a total reading interest rate of 59.52. Even DKI Jakarta, the capital, is ranked tenth, with a reading length of 4 to 5 hours and 4 to 5 novels every quarter.
